HELLO beaus and beauties!
After a few weeks of crazy travel, boozy nights and flights I figured it was time for a recap:
New York City was the kick off and it was interesting start waiting almost 2 hours for Paul & Simon (band mates) to get thru customs and get their new visa’s cleared. By and hour and 45 mins of waiting I was beginning to thing I was going to have to hire new players for the gig we had the next day! My sweating and stressing was relieved as their beautiful British faces walked thru the customs exit door.
Gig Thursday was a successful and joyful experience, lots of familiar and new faces in the audience, a total blast! THANKS if you were at Mercury Lounge on August 5th, 7PM!!! Day 2-BOSTON, radio show at Emerson, a lovely hung over/early morning train ride but a good time with Dan at 88.7. Hope to be back soon!
Day 3-NYC, FINALLY got to spend some time with myself in the city! Day 4-PHILLY: World Café jam out session (I LOVE THAT PLACE!) Day 5: Minneapolis. OMG, we stopped by Best Buy to sing some new choons for them and they were excellent, the Best Buy store inside the offices is glorious. And what kind of American friend would I be if I didn’t take Simon & Paul to see the Mall Of America!!
After 2 hours of window shopping and an almost ride on the Dora the Explorer rollercoaster it was time to “hop a flight to Miami Beach”! JUST KIDDING (I WISH)!! We flew to Boulder, got a good soak in the Jacuzzi, stuffed myself with Key Lime cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory (my fave) and then hit the hay. We visited Zed and the Triple A conference in Colorado and we got to do it while looking at this!
And I even took that beauty myself! Triple A conference was at 10AM on Thursday morning, we were on a plane by 1PM and then off to LA, California to visit Universal Music Group (t’was awesome meeting everyone in the west coast office). Friday was a long 11 hours on the plane home to Londontown which I slept solidly through. I’d like to note this is a once a year occurance and obviously clear and compelling evidence of my tiredness. I’d like to thank all the drivers we had for making out journeys fun, especially you Scott, singing Radiohead to from Denver airport en route to the hotel!
This week back in the UK was stellar. We did 2 full band gigs and boy what a rush. Having the full action on stage now is rocking my world. If you came down to Westgarth Social Club in Middlesbrough or Electric Circus in Edinburgh I thank you for spending your evening with Me (and the boys). I adore each and every one of you and hope to be back up north again very soon!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who’s been out support the “Painkillers” EP, keep spreading the word and thanks for listening. You all keep me motivated, keep me going.
This expatriate was thrilled to be in the USA for a hot minute, not getting charged for ATM withdrawls and being able to buy Skippy peanut butter any where (it’s the little things innit!). But I must admit, London is starting to feel like home
Until my next chatty blog,
you lovers……XXX
